सिंहवद् विनदन्नुच्चैर्धनुरज्या विक्षिपन् मुहुः । शरौघान् विसृजन् पार्थो व्यचरत् कालवदू रणे

குந்தியின் மகன் பார்த்தன் சிங்கம்போல் உரக்க முழங்கி, மீண்டும் மீண்டும் வில்லின் நாணை இழுத்து, அம்புக் கூட்டங்களைப் பொழிந்து, போர்க்களத்தில் காலனைப் போலச் சுற்றினான்.
