Yuga-Lakṣaṇa and Varṣa-Pramāṇa Inquiry (युगलक्षण–वर्षप्रमाण–प्रश्न)
वर्णा: स्वकर्मनिरता न च स्तेनोअत्र दृश्यते । दीर्घायुषो महाराज जरामृत्युविवर्जिता:
sañjaya uvāca |
varṇāḥ svakarmaniratā na ca steno ’tra dṛśyate |
dīrghāyuṣo mahārāja jarāmṛtyuvivarjitāḥ ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—அந்நாட்டில் எல்லா வர்ணத்தாரும் தத்தம் விதிக்கப்பட்ட கடமைகளில் ஈடுபட்டிருப்பர்; அங்கே திருடன் ஒருவனும் காணப்படான். மகாராஜா! அந்தத் தீவின் குடிமக்கள் நீண்ட ஆயுளுடையோர்; முதுமை மற்றும் மரணத் துன்பங்களிலிருந்து விடுபட்டோர்.
