तेषां तदभवद् युद्ध दशाहानि महात्मनाम् | कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,उन महामनस्वी कौरवों और पाण्डवोंमें दस दिनोंतक महान् रोमांचकारी युद्ध हुआ
teṣāṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ daśāhāni mahātmanām | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
அந்த மகாத்ம கௌரவர்களுக்கும் பாண்டவர்களுக்கும் இடையே பத்து நாட்கள் போர் நடந்தது—மிகப் பெரிதும், ரோமஞ்சமூட்டும், அச்சமூட்டும் போர்.
