उत्तडुक उवाच गुर्वर्थ क॑ प्रयच्छामि ब्रूहि त्वं द्विजसत्तम । तमुपाहत्य गच्छेयमनुज्ञातस्त्वया विभो
Uttaṅka uvāca: gurvarthaṃ kiṃ prayacchāmi? brūhi tvaṃ dvijasattama. tam upāhṛtya gaccheyam anujñātas tvayā vibho.
உத்தங்கன் கூறினான்—ஓ இருபிறப்பினருள் சிறந்தவரே, குருதட்சிணையாக நான் உமக்கு என்ன அளிக்க வேண்டும்? அதை கொண்டு வந்து உமக்கு அர்ப்பணித்து, உமது அனுமதி பெற்று, ஓ மதிப்பிற்குரியவரே, நான் இல்லம் செல்லலாமா?
