Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्
जगदग्निरुवाच जाजमद्यजजाने5हं जिजाहीह जिजायिषि । जमदग्निरिति ख्यातस्ततो मां विद्धि शोभने
jagadagnir uvāca | jājām adyajajāne ’haṃ jijāhīha jijāyiṣi | jamadagnir iti khyātas tato māṃ viddhi śobhane ||
ஜமதக்னி கூறினார்— நற்குணமுடையவளே! இன்று நான் தேவர்களின் ஆஹவனீய யாகஅக்னியிலிருந்து பிறந்தேன். ஆகையால் என்னை ‘ஜமதக்னி’ என்ற பெயரால் புகழ்பெற்றவன் என்று அறிந்துகொள்.
