कृत्वाग्नौकरणं पूर्व मन्त्रपूर्व तपोधन । ततो5ग्नये5थ सोमाय वरुणाय च नित्यश:

Transliteration

kṛtvāgnaukaraṇaṃ pūrvaṃ mantrapūrva tapodhana | tato 'gnaye 'tha somāya varuṇāya ca nityaśaḥ ||

Translation

பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—ஓ தவவான், வேதமந்திர உச்சாரணத்துடன் முதலில் அக்னௌகரணச் சடங்கை நிறைவேற்றி, அதன் பின் நாள்தோறும் அக்னி, சோமன், வருணன் ஆகியோருக்கு அவரவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பங்குகளை விதிப்படி அர்ப்பணிக்க வேண்டும்; இவ்வரிசையில் வழிபட்டு தர்மத்தின் ஆதாரமான தெய்வங்களை நிலைநிறுத்த வேண்டும்.
