देवानामुपरिष्टाच्च गाव: प्रतिवसन्ति वै । दत्त्वा चैतास्तारयन्ते यान्ति स्वर्ग मनीषिण:
devānām upariṣṭāc ca gāvaḥ prativasanti vai | dattvā caitās tārayante yānti svargaṃ manīṣiṇaḥ ||
பீஷ்மன் கூறினான்—பசுக்கள் தேவர்களின் உலகங்களுக்கும் மேலான உயர்ந்த உலகங்களில் வாசம் செய்கின்றன. அவற்றை தானமாக அளிக்கும் ஞானிகள் தம்மைத் தாமே காத்து, சொர்க்கத்தை அடைகின்றனர்।
