Brāhmaṇa-vandana: Criteria for Veneration, Disciplined Speech, and Protective Kingship (अनुशासनपर्व, अध्याय ८)
ऋजून् सतः सत्यशीलान् सर्वभूतहिते रतान् । आशीविषानिव क्रुद्धान् द्विजान् परिचरेत् सदा
ṛjūn sataḥ satyaśīlān sarvabhūtahite ratān | āśīviṣān iva kruddhān dvijān paricaret sadā ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—நேர்மையானவர்கள், நற்குணமுடையவர்கள், சத்தியநிஷ்டையுடையவர்கள், எல்லா உயிர்களின் நலனில் ஈடுபட்டிருக்கும் இருபிறப்பினரை எப்போதும் பணிந்து சேவிக்க வேண்டும்; ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் கோபித்தால் விஷப்பாம்புகளைப் போல ஆபத்தானவர்கள்.
