गोप्रदानगुणाः तथा कपिलागोविधानम्
Merits of Cow-Gift and the Origin-Account of Kapilā Cows
सत्ये धर्मे च निरतस्तस्य शक्र फलं शृणु । गोसहस्रेण समिता तस्य थेनुर्भवत्युत
pitāmaha uvāca | satye dharme ca niratas tasya śakra phalaṃ śṛṇu | go-sahasreṇa samitā tasya dhenur bhavaty uta | śacīpate śakra |
பிதாமகர் கூறினார்—ஓ சக்ரா! சத்தியமும் தர்மமும் பற்றித் திடமாக இருப்பவனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் பலனைச் செவி கொடு. அத்தகையவன் தானமாக அளிக்கும் ஒரே ஒரு பசுவும் புண்ணியத்தில் ஆயிரம் பசுதானத்துக்கு இணையாகிறது. ஓ சசீபதி சக்ரா! பிராமணரிடம் ஒருபோதும் கடுஞ்சொல் பேசக் கூடாது; பசுக்களைப் பற்றிய பகை எண்ணம் மனத்தில்கூட எழக் கூடாது. பசுவைப் போல மென்மை, அஹிம்சை, பிறரைப் போஷிக்கும் வாழ்வுமுறையுடன் இருந்து, பசுக்களுக்கு புல்-தீவனம் முதலிய பராமரிப்பை ஏற்படுத்தி, சத்திய-தர்மத்தில் நிலைத்திருப்பவன்—அவனுடைய ஒரே பசுதானமும் ஆயிரம் பசுதானப் பலனுக்கு ஒப்பாகும்.
