Cyavana–Kuśika Dialogue on Lineage, Conflict, and Transmission
tair vṛtaḥ kuśiko rājā śriyā paramayā jvalan | praviveśa pura hṛṣṭaḥ pūjyamāno 'tha bandibhiḥ ||
The verse highlights the dharmic ideal that rightful conduct and merit naturally attract honor: a king’s true splendor is affirmed not only by wealth but by public recognition of his virtues, voiced by those entrusted to praise excellence.
Bhīṣma describes King Kuśika returning/arriving in a celebratory moment: he is surrounded by attendants, radiant with prosperity, and enters the city joyfully while bards (bandis) sing his praises and honor him.
