Cyavana’s Water-Vow and the Ethics of Cohabitation (स्नेह-सम्वास-धर्मः)
तत्तु दत्त हरेत् पित्रा नादत्तं हर्तुमहति । अवश्यं हि धन देयं शूद्रापुत्राय भारत
tattu dattaṁ haret pitrā nādattaṁ hartum arhati | avaśyaṁ hi dhanaṁ deyaṁ śūdrāputrāya bhārata ||
தந்தை அளித்ததை மட்டுமே அவன் பெற வேண்டும்; அளிக்காததைப் பிடுங்கும் உரிமை இல்லை. ஆயினும், ஓ பாரதா, சூத்ராபுத்திரனுக்குச் செல்வத்தில் ஒரு பங்கு நிச்சயமாக வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
