पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient
आगतानागते चोभे ब्राह्मणो द्विपदं वर: । ब्राह्मणो भरतश्रेष्ठ स्वरधर्म चैव वेद यः:
āgatānāgate cobhe brāhmaṇo dvipadaṃ varaḥ | brāhmaṇo bharataśreṣṭha svadharmaṃ caiva veda yaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—இருகாலங்களையும், கடந்ததையும் வரவிருப்பதையும் அறிந்ததால், இருகால்களுள்ளவர்களில் பிராமணன் முதன்மை பெற்றவன். பாரதச் சிறந்தவனே, தன் ச்வதர்மத்தை உண்மையாக அறிந்து அதன்படி நடப்பவனே உண்மையான பிராமணன்.
