भीष्म उवाच अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम् | नारदस्य च संवाद वासुदेवस्य चोभयो:
bhīṣma uvāca | atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṃ purātanam | nāradasya ca saṃvādaṃ vāsudevasya cobhayoḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்— யுதிஷ்டிரா! இவ்விஷயத்திலும் ஞானிகள் ஒரு பழமையான இதிகாசத்தை எடுத்துக்காட்டாகச் சொல்கிறார்கள்—தேவரிஷி நாரதரும் வாசுதேவரும் (ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ணர்) இருவரும் நிகழ்த்திய உரையாடலை.
