Pūjya-namaskārya-prakaraṇa
On Those Worthy of Honor and Salutation
त्वां तु शोचामि यो लब्ध्वा ब्राह्माण्यं न बुभूषसे । मतंगने कहा--देवराज! मैं तो यों ही दुःखसे आतुर हो रहा हूँ
tvāṃ tu śocāmi yo labdhvā brāhmaṇyaṃ na bubhūṣase |
மதங்கன் கூறினான்—பிறப்பால் பிராமணத்துவத்தைப் பெற்றும் அதை ஏற்றுக் காக்க விரும்பாத உன்னை நினைத்து நான் வருந்துகிறேன். நடத்தையால் அணைத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டிய அந்தப் பெருமையைப் பெற்றும் நீ அதை உனதாகச் செய்யவில்லை; அதற்காகவே என் புலம்பல் உனக்காக உள்ளது.
