स्वदेशे परदेशे वाप्यतिथिं नोपवासयेत् । कर्म वै सफल कृत्वा गुरूणां प्रतिपादयेत्
Bhīṣma uvāca | svadeśe paradeśe vāpy atithiṁ nopavāsayet | karma vai saphalaṁ kṛtvā gurūṇāṁ pratipādayet ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—தன் நாட்டிலோ அந்நாட்டிலோ, விருந்தினரை பசியோடு இருக்க விடக்கூடாது. மேலும் மூத்தோர் அல்லது குருக்கள் ஆணையிட்ட பணியை வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவேற்றி, அதை அவர்களிடம் பணிவுடன் அறிவிக்க வேண்டும்.
