अत्रिर॒वाच कथं रक्षामि भवतस्ते<ब्रुवंश्वन्द्रमा भव । तिमिरघ्नश्न सविता दस्युहन्ता च नो भव
atrir uvāca: kathaṁ rakṣāmi bhavatas te? bruvan: candramā bhava; timiraghnaś ca savitā, dasyuhantā ca no bhava.
அத்ரி கூறினார்— “நான் உங்களை எவ்வாறு காப்பேன்?” தேவர்கள் சொன்னார்கள்— “நீ சந்திரனாக ஆகு; இருளை அழிக்கும் சூரியனாகவும் ஆகு. எங்களுக்காக கொள்ளையர் போன்ற இந்த தானவப் பகைவர்களை அழித்துவிடு.”
