अमानी मानदो मान्यो लोकस्वामी त्रिलोकधृक् । सुमेधा मेधजो धन्य: सत्यमेधा धराधर:
amānī mānado mānyo lokasvāmī trilokadhṛk | sumedhā medhajo dhanyaḥ satyamedhā dharādharaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அவர் தமக்கென மரியாதையை நாடாதவன்; ஆனால் பிறர்க்கு மரியாதை அளிப்பவன்; வணங்கத்தக்கவன், மதிக்கத்தக்கவன். அவர் உலகங்களின் ஆண்டவன்; மூன்று உலகங்களையும் தாங்குபவன். அவர் சிறந்த அறிவுடையவன்; யாகத்தில் வெளிப்படுபவன்; எப்போதும் பாக்கியமிக்கவன், நன்றிக்குரியவன்; உண்மையும் உயர்வும் கொண்ட ஞானம் உடையவன்; மேலும் ‘தராதரன்’—பூமியைத் தாங்கும் பரமேஸ்வரன்.
