दम्पत्यो: समशीलत्वं धर्म: स्याद् गृहमेधिन: । गृह्माणां चैव देवानां नित्यपुष्पबलिक्रिया
dampatyoḥ samaśīlatvaṃ dharmaḥ syād gṛhamedhinaḥ | gṛhyāṇāṃ caiva devānāṃ nityapuṣpabalikriyā ||
இல்லறத்தாரின் தர்மம் என்பது கணவன்–மனைவி இருவரும் ஒத்த பண்பும் ஒத்த நடத்தையும் கொண்டிருப்பதே. மேலும் இல்லத்தில் உறையும் தேவர்களுக்கு நாள்தோறும் மலர்ப்பூஜையும் பலி (அன்ன நைவேத்யம்) அர்ப்பணிக்கும் நித்தியச் சடங்கும் நடைபெற வேண்டும்.
