प्रियो मे5यं प्रियोडस्पाहमिति सम्प्रेक्ष्य बुद्धिमान् वयस्यायैवमक्लिष्टं दानं दद्यादतन्द्रित:
priyo me ’yaṃ priyo ’smy aham iti samprekṣya buddhimān vayasyāyaivam akliṣṭaṃ dānaṃ dadyād atandritaḥ
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்— ‘இவன் எனக்குப் பிரியன்; நானும் அவனுக்குப் பிரியன்’ என்று எண்ணி, அறிவாளர் சோம்பலை விட்டு, நண்பனுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியுடன், மனக்கிளர்ச்சியின்றித் தானம் அளிக்க வேண்டும்; இது ஆசை/பிரியமூலமான தானம்.
