Adhyāya 142: Cyavana, the Devas’ Arrogance, and Vāyu’s Counsel on Protecting Brāhmaṇas
अवर्षति च पर्जन्ये सर्वभूतानि देवराट् । वसिष्ठो जीवयामास येन यातो$क्षयां गतिम्
avarṣati ca parjanye sarvabhūtāni devarāṭ | vasiṣṭho jīvayāmāsa yena yāto 'kṣayāṃ gatim ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்— மழை பெய்யாமல் எல்லா உயிர்களும் துன்புற்றபோது, முனிவர் வசிஷ்டர் அவர்களுக்கு உயிர்தானம் செய்து மீட்டார்; அந்தப் புண்ணியத்தால் அவர் அழிவிலா நிலையை அடைந்தார்।
