Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अर्द्धमानाश्च विबुधा ग्रहेण सुबलीयसा । शिवदत्तवरान् जष्नुरसुरेन्द्रान सुरा भूशम्
arddhamānāś ca vibudhā graheṇa subalīyasā | śivadattavarān jaṣṇur asurendrān surā bhūśam ||
வாசுதேவர் கூறினார்—மிகுந்த வலிமையுடைய கிரஹன் தேவர்களைத் துன்புறுத்தத் தொடங்கியபோது, தேவர்கள் நெருக்கடியில் இருந்தாலும் சிவன் அருளிய வரம் பெற்ற அசுரேந்திரர்களைத் தாக்கி அவர்களை அடக்கினர்; இவ்வாறு அவர்களிடையே நீண்ட காலம் போர் தொடர்ந்தது.
