Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
प्राप्पानुज्ञां गुरुजनादहं ताक्ष्यमचिन्तयम् । सो5वहद्धिमवन्तं मां प्राप्प चैनं व्यसर्जयम्
prāptānujñāṃ gurujanād ahaṃ tākṣyam acintayam | so 'vahad himavantaṃ māṃ prāpya cainaṃ vyasarjayam ||
மூத்தோரின் அனுமதி பெற்ற பின், நான் மனத்திலே தாக்ஷ்யன் (கருடன்) என்பவனை நினைத்தேன். அவன் என்னை ஹிமவான் (இமயமலை) வரை கொண்டு சென்றான்; அங்கே சென்றதும் நான் அவனை மரியாதையுடன் விடைபெறச் செய்தேன்.

Vāsudeva says that after receiving permission from respected elders, he mentally invoked Garuḍa (Tākṣya). Garuḍa transported him to the Himalaya, and upon reaching there Vāsudeva dismissed Garuḍa.
