तस्मात्तु कपिला देया कौमुद्रां ज्येष्ठपुष्करे । ब्रह्म हत्याके समान जो कोई पाप होता है
tasmāttu kapilā deyā kaumudrāṁ jyeṣṭha-puṣkare |
ஆகையால் கார்த்திகப் பௌர்ணமியன்று ஜ்யேஷ்டபுஷ்கரத்தில் கௌமுத்ர நிறமுடைய கபிலா பசுவை தானமாக அளிக்க வேண்டும். இந்த ஒரே கபிலாதானம் பிரம்மஹத்தியை ஒத்த மகாபாபத்தையும் தூய்மைப்படுத்தும் என்று போதிக்கப்படுகிறது; மேலும் இந்த ஒரே கோதானம் நூறு சாதாரண கோதானங்களுக்கு இணையான புண்ணியமாக அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறது. எனவே ஜ்யேஷ்டபுஷ்கர தீர்த்தத்தில் கார்த்திகப் பௌர்ணமியன்று நிச்சயமாக கபிலா கோதானம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.
