अस्माकं परितोषश्न अक्षय: परिकीरत्त्यते | इस तरह निष्कपट भावसे किया हुआ दान अक्षय एवं महान् फलदायक होता है और उससे हमें भी अक्षय संतोष प्राप्त होता है--ऐसा शास्त्रका कथन है ।।
śakra uvāca | asmākaṃ paritoṣaś ca akṣayaḥ parikīrtyate | śraddadhānāś ca ye martyā āhariṣyanti santatim ||
சக்ரன் கூறினான்—எங்களுடைய திருப்தியும் அச்சயமெனப் புகழப்படுகிறது. ஆகையால் கபடமற்ற தூய உள்ளத்துடன் செய்யப்படும் தானம் அச்சயமாகி மகாபலனை அளிக்கும்; அதனால் நாமும் முடிவில்லா மனநிறைவை அடைகிறோம்—இதுவே சாஸ்திரத்தின் போதனை. மேலும் நம்பிக்கையுடன் தானம் செய்கிற மானவர்கள் நிலைத்த சந்ததித் தொடரை பெறுவர்.
