अग्निकार्येषु वै तेषां हव्यं नाश्नाति पावक: । जो प्रज्वलित यज्ञाग्निमें समिधाकी आहुति नहीं देते
agnikāryeṣu vai teṣāṃ havyaṃ nāśnāti pāvakaḥ |
சக்ரன் கூறினான்—அக்னி தொடர்பான கடமைகளை அலட்சியம் செய்பவர்களின் ஹவ்யத்தை பாவகன் ஏற்கமாட்டான். எரியும் யாகஅக்னியில் சமிதை (விறகு) ஆஹுதி அளிக்காதவர்களின் அக்னிஹோத்திரத்தில் அக்னிதேவன் ஹவிசை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளான்; ஆகவே அக்னியை முறையாக ஏற்றி வைத்த பின்பே ஆஹுதி அளிக்க வேண்டும்.
