पिण्डं तु मध्यमं तत्र पत्नी त्वेका समश्षुते । पिण्डस्तृतीयो यस्तेषां तै दद्याज्जातवेदसि
piṇḍaṃ tu madhyamaṃ tatra patnī tv ekā samaśnute | piṇḍas tṛtīyo yas teṣāṃ taṃ dadyāj jātavedasi ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்— “அங்கே நடுப்பிண்டத்தை மனைவி மட்டுமே உண்ண வேண்டும்; மேலும் அவற்றில் மூன்றாவது பிண்டத்தை ஜாதவேதஸ் எனப்படும் அக்னியில் அர்ப்பணிக்க வேண்டும்.”
