वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames moral disposition as rooted in character and origins: Duryodhana’s support-base is depicted as inherently inclined toward cruelty (rākṣasa-like), while Yuyutsu is marked as distinct—suggesting that ethical alignment is not merely familial but chosen and conditioned by one’s nature and associations.
Vaiśampāyana continues a genealogical and descriptive account of Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons and their supporters: most are grouped as Duryodhana’s allies with a demonic characterization, and Yuyutsu is identified separately as Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son by a Vaiśyā woman, making the total number exceed one hundred.
