त॑ दृष्टवा द्रुपद: प्रीतो बभूव रिपुसूदन: । सह सैन्यैश्न पार्थस्य साहाय्यार्थमियेष स:,अर्जुनको देखकर शत्रुसूदन ट्रपदके हर्षकी सीमा न रही। उन्होंने अपनी सेनाके साथ उनकी सहायता करनेका निश्चय किया
taṁ dṛṣṭvā drupadaḥ prīto babhūva ripusūdanaḥ | saha sainyaiś ca pārthasya sāhāyyārtham iyeṣa saḥ ||
அர்ஜுனனை கண்டதும் பகைவரை அடக்கும் புகழுடைய துருபதன் பேரானந்தம் கொண்டான். பார்த்தனுக்கு துணை நிற்கத் தன் படையுடன் உதவிசெய்யத் தீர்மானித்து புறப்பட்டான்.
