वृथारोषप्रतिज्ञो वै नाहं भवितुमुत्सहे । अनिस्तीर्णो हि मां रोषो देहेदग्निरिवारणिम्
Ūrva uvāca | vṛthā-roṣa-pratijño vai nāhaṃ bhavitum utsahe | anistīrṇo hi māṃ roṣo dehed agnir ivāraṇim ||
ஔர்வர் கூறினார்— “என் சினமும் என் பிரதிஞ்ஞையும் வீணாகிப் போகும் ஒருவனாக நான் ஆக விரும்பவில்லை. என் கோபம் தன் நோக்கை அடையாவிட்டால், அந்தச் செலவாகாத ரோஷமே அக்கினி அரணி-மரத்தை எரிப்பதுபோல் என்னை எரித்துவிடும்.”
