Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)
अयुतानि ददान्यष्टौ गवां याजय मां विभो । द्रोणवैराभिसंतप्तं प्रह्लादयितुमहसि
ayutāni dadāny aṣṭau gavāṁ yājaya māṁ vibho | droṇavairābhisaṁtaptaṁ prahlādayitum arhasi ||
வல்லவரே! நான் உமக்கு எண்பதாயிரம் பசுக்களை தானமாக அளிக்கிறேன். என் யாகத்தை நடத்தித் தருக. துரோணனுடனான பகை என்னை வாட்டுகிறது; எனக்கு அமைதியும் மகிழ்ச்சியும் அருள்வீர்.
