भीमस्य जलान्वेषणं तथा वनविश्रान्तिः
Bhīma’s Search for Water and the Forest Halt
द्रवन्ति सम नदन्ति सम क्रोशन्त: पाण्डवान् प्रति । (पाञज्चालशरभिन्नाड़ो भयमासाद्य वै वृष: । कर्णो रथादवप्लुत्य पलायनपरो5 भवत् ।।
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca | dravanti sma nadanti sma krośantaḥ pāṇḍavān prati | (pāñcālaśarabhinnāṅgo bhayam āsādya vai vṛṣaḥ | karṇo rathād avaplutya palāyanaparo 'bhavat ||) pāṇḍavās tu svanaṃ śrutvā ārtānāṃ lomaharṣaṇam |
அவர்கள் பாண்டவர்களை நோக்கி ஓடிக்கொண்டே ஒருசேர அலறி, புலம்பி, கூச்சலிட்டனர். பாஞ்சாலரின் அம்புகளால் உடல் கிழிக்கப்பட்ட வृषன் (கர்ணன்) அச்சத்தில் ஆட்கொள்ளப்பட்டான்; ரதத்திலிருந்து குதித்து தப்பிச் செல்லத் துணிந்தான். பாண்டவர்கள் காயமுற்றோரின் மெய்சிலிர்க்கச் செய்யும் ஆற்றலறை ஒலியை கேட்டனர்.
