विहस्य तां ततो ब्रूया: कुन्ति कि ते ददाम्यहम् । सा त॑ विहस्यमानापि पुत्र देहुब्रवीदिदम्
vihasya tāṁ tato brūyāḥ: kunti ki te dadāmy aham | sā taṁ vihasyamānāpi putra dehūbravīd idam ||
அப்போது தர்மன் சிரித்தபடி, “குந்தி, உனக்கு நான் என்ன தர வேண்டும்?” என்றான். அவன் விளையாட்டாகச் சிரித்துக் கேட்டாலும் குந்தி, “எனக்கு ஒரு மகனை அருளுங்கள்” என்று கூறினாள்।
