क्षत्रधर्म समास्थाय व्यपेतभयसम्भ्रम: । निवर्तयामास रथं शाल्वं प्रति महारथ:,महारथी भीष्मने क्षत्रिय-धर्मका आश्रय ले भय और घबराहट छोड़कर शाल्वकी ओर अपना रथ लौटाया

kṣatradharmaṃ samāsthāya vyapetabhayasambhramaḥ | nivartayāmāsa rathaṃ śālvaṃ prati mahārathaḥ ||

க்ஷத்திரிய தர்மத்தைத் தழுவி, அச்சமும் கலக்கமும் நீங்கி, அந்த மகாரதன் பீஷ்மர் தமது தேரை சால்வன் நோக்கித் திருப்பினார்—தடுமாற்றமல்ல, கடமையே முன்னென்று.
