ततः स मृगयामास वने तस्मिंस्तपोधन: । नाध्यगच्छच्च मृगयंस्तां गां मुनिरुदारधी:,तब तपोधन वसिष्ठजी उस वनमें गायकी खोज करने लगे; परंतु खोजनेपर भी वे उदारबुद्धि महर्षि उस गायको न पा सके
tataḥ sa mṛgayāmāsa vane tasmiṃs tapodhanaḥ | nādhyagacchac ca mṛgayan tāṃ gāṃ munir udāradhīḥ ||
அப்போது தவத்தில் செழித்த அந்த முனிவர் அந்த வனத்தில் பசுவைத் தேடத் தொடங்கினார்; தேடியும் தேடியும், உயர்ந்த அறிவுடைய அந்த முனிவருக்கு அந்தப் பசு கிடைக்கவில்லை.
