Adhyaya 89: शौचाचारलक्षणम् — सदाचार, भैक्ष्यचर्या, प्रायश्चित्त, द्रव्यशुद्धि, आशौच-निर्णय
आतिथ्यश्राद्धयज्ञेषु न गच्छेद्योगवित्क्वचित् एवं ह्यहिंसको योगी भवेदिति विचारितम्
ātithyaśrāddhayajñeṣu na gacchedyogavitkvacit evaṃ hyahiṃsako yogī bhavediti vicāritam
யோகத்தை அறிந்தவர் விருந்தோம்பல் விருந்துகள், ஸ்ராத்தம், யாகக் கூட்டங்கள் ஆகியவற்றிற்கு எப்போதும் செல்லக் கூடாது; இவ்வாறு யோகி அஹிம்சையில் உறுதியாக நிலைபெறுவான் என்று தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டது.
