Shloka 48

उमामहेश्वरव्रतं—पञ्चाक्षरमन्त्रस्य माहात्म्यं, न्यासः, जपविधिः, सदाचारः, विनियोगः

पञ्चमः स्वरितश्चैव मध्यमो निषधः स्मृताः नकारः पीतवर्णश् च स्थानं पूर्वमुखं स्मृतम्

pañcamaḥ svaritaścaiva madhyamo niṣadhaḥ smṛtāḥ nakāraḥ pītavarṇaś ca sthānaṃ pūrvamukhaṃ smṛtam

ஐந்தாவது ஸ்வரித ஸ்வரத்துடன் உச்சரிக்கப்படுகிறது; அதன் நிலை மத்தியமம், அதன் ஸ்வரம் ‘நிஷத’ என அறியப்படுகிறது. ‘ந’ எழுத்து பொன்னிற-மஞ்சள்; அதன் இடம் கிழக்கு முகம் என நினைக்கப்படுகிறது.
