या रामभ्राता भरतः काम एवाभवद्भुवि / रामाज्ञां भरते यस्मात्तस्माद्भरतनामकः

ராமனின் சகோதரன் பரதன் பூமியில் காமதேவனின் வடிவமாக (அன்பு-பக்தியின் உருவாக) விளங்கினான். ராமனின் ஆணையைத் தாங்கி நிறைவேற்றியதால் ‘பரதன்’ எனப் பெயர் பெற்றான்.
