अथात: श्रूयतां वंशो योऽदितेरनुपूर्वश: । यत्र नारायणो देव: स्वांशेनावातरद्विभु: ॥ ३८ ॥ विवस्वानर्यमा पूषा त्वष्टाथ सविता भग: । धाता विधाता वरुणो मित्र: शत्रु उरुक्रम: ॥ ३९ ॥
athātaḥ śrūyatāṁ vaṁśo yo ’diter anupūrvaśaḥ yatra nārāyaṇo devaḥ svāṁśenāvātarad vibhuḥ
இப்போது அதிதியின் வம்சத்தை வரிசையாகக் கேளுங்கள்; இந்த வம்சத்தில் எல்லாவற்றையும் ஆளும் நாராயணன் தன் ஸ்வாம்சமாக அவதரித்தான். அதிதியின் புதல்வர்கள்: விவஸ்வான், அர்யமா, பூஷா, த்வஷ்டா, ஸவிதா, பக, தாதா, விதாதா, வருணன், மித்ரன், ஶத்ரு, உருக்ரமன்.
