श्रीशुक उवाच शिव: शक्तियुत: शश्वत् त्रिलिङ्गो गुणसंवृत: । वैकारिकस्तैजसश्च तामसश्चेत्यहं त्रिधा ॥ ३ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca śivaḥ śakti-yutaḥ śaśvat tri-liṅgo guṇa-saṁvṛtaḥ vaikārikas taijasaś ca tāmasaś cety ahaṁ tridhā
ஸ்ரீசுகர் கூறினார்—சிவபெருமான் எப்போதும் தமது சக்தியான பிரகிருதியுடன் இணைந்தவராய் உள்ளார். குணங்களின் மறைப்பால் மூடப்பட்டு, அவற்றின் வேண்டுகோளுக்கேற்ப மூன்று ரூபங்களாக வெளிப்பட்டு, சத்துவம், ரஜஸ், தமஸ் எனும் மும்மடங்கு அஹங்காரத் தத்துவத்தைத் தாங்குகிறார்।
