Kṛṣṇa Comforts His Parents, Restores Ugrasena, Studies with Sāndīpani, and Returns the Guru’s Son
tam āha bhagavān āśu guru-putraḥ pradīyatām yo ’sāv iha tvayā grasto bālako mahatormiṇā
This verse shows Kṛṣṇa Himself demanding the return of His guru’s son, highlighting that honoring and serving the guru is a sacred duty—even for Bhagavān.
Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma went to fulfill Sāndīpani Muni’s request by retrieving his lost son; Kṛṣṇa commands the ocean (who had ‘taken’ the boy by a great wave) to return him.
Practice sincere respect and service to one’s teacher—through obedience, gratitude, and responsible conduct—seeing learning and guidance as sacred rather than merely transactional.
