Sukta 118
उग्रंपश्ये राष्ट्रभृत् किल्बिषाणि यदक्षवृत्तमनु दत्तं न एतत्। ऋणान्नो नर्णमेर्त्समानो यमस्य लोके अधिरज्जुरायत्
ugrámpaśye rā́ṣṭrabhṛt kilbíṣāṇi yád ákṣavṛttám ánu dattaṃ na etát | ṛṇā́n no nṛ́ṇam értsamāno yamásya lóke ádhi rajjúḥ ā́yat
O Ugrampaśyā, supporter of the realm: the offences—this which, as dice-practice, hath been given to follow upon us—he, seeking to reach men, from our debt, in Yama’s world, hath stretched the rope above (us).
ஏ உக்ரம்பஷ்யா, அரசைத் தாங்குபவளே! சூதாட்டத்தின் (அக்ஷவ்ருத்த) வழக்கமாக எங்கள் பின்தொடரச் செய்யப் பட்ட குற்றங்களை நான் காண்கிறேன். அவன், மனிதரை அடைய முயன்று, எங்கள் கடனிலிருந்து (விடுபடச்) யமலோகத்தில் எங்கள் மேலே கயிற்றை இழுத்துப் பதிக்கிறான்.
