अग्न आ याह्यग्निभिर्होतारं त्वा वृणीमहे । आ त्वामनक्तु प्रयता हविष्मती यजिष्ठं बर्हिरासदे

IAST Transliteration

ágn(a) ā́ yāhy agníbhir hótāraṃ tvā vṛṇīmahe | ā́ tvām anaktu práyatā havíṣmatī yájiṣṭhaṃ bárhir āsáde ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

O Agni, come hither with the fires; thee as Hotṛ we choose. Let the duly-prepared, oblation-bearing (offering) anoint thee—most meet for sacrifice—to sit upon the sacred grass.

Translation

ஓ அக்னே! அக்னிகளுடன் இங்கு வா; ஹோத்ரு என நாம் உன்னைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறோம். முறையாகத் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட, ஹவிஸ் தாங்கிய (ஆஹுதி) உன்னை அபிஷேகிக்கட்டும்—யாகத்திற்கு மிகத் தகுதியானவனே—நீ புனிதப் புல் ‘பர்ஹிஸ்’ (குச) மீது அமர்வதற்காக.
