अग्निं दूतं वृणीमहे होतारं विश्ववेदसम्। अस्य यज्ञस्य सुक्रतुम्

IAST Transliteration

agním dūtáṃ vṛṇīmahe hótāraṃ viśvávedasam | asyá yajñásya sukrátum

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Agni, the messenger, we choose—him the Hotar, the all-knowing—of this our sacrifice, the of-good-counsel, the of-good-rite.

Translation

நாம் அக்னியை—தூதனை—வரிக்கிறோம்; அவரையே ஹோதாவாக, விஷ்வவேதஸ் (அனைத்தையும் அறிந்தவர்) ஆக; இவ்வெங்கள் யாகத்தின் ஸுக்ரது (நல்ல ஆலோசனையும் நல்விதியும் உடையவர்) ஆக.
