Sukta 50
यथा शाम्याकः प्रपतन्नपवान् नानुविद्यते । एवा रात्रि प्र पातय यो अस्मां अभ्यघायति
yáthā śāmyākáḥ prápatan apavā́n nā́nuvídyate | evā́ rātri prá pātaya yó asmā́n abhyaghā́yati ||
As a śāmyāka, hurled forth and wind-driven, is not found again—so, O Night, drive far away, cast down, him who deviseth evil against us.
எறியப்பட்டு காற்றால் அடித்துச் செல்லப்படும் ஷா॒ம்யாக (ஷாம்யாகா) மீண்டும் கிடைக்காதது போல—அவ்வாறே, ஓ இராத்திரீ, எங்களை எதிர்த்து தீங்கு எண்ணுபவனைத் தூரம் விரட்டி, கீழே வீழ்த்தி விடுவாயாக.
