यो माभिच्छायमत्येषि मां चाग्निं चान्तरा। तस्य वृश्चामि ते मूलं न च्छायां करवोऽपरम्

IAST Transliteration

yó mā́bhicchāyám atyéṣi mā́m cā́gním cā́ntarā́ | tásya vṛścāmi te mū́laṃ ná cchāyā́ṃ karavó’param ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Whoso with baleful shadow would overpass me, and would come between me and Agni,—his very root do I hew away; nor shall I suffer that shadow to be made again.

Translation

யார் தீய நிழலுடன் என்னை மீறிச் செல்ல விரும்பி, என்னுக்கும் அக்னிக்கும் இடையில் வருகிறாரோ—அவனுடைய வேரையே நான் வெட்டிவிடுகிறேன்; அந்த நிழல் மீண்டும் உருவாக நான் அனுமதிக்கமாட்டேன்.
