अपावृत्य गार्हपत्यात् क्रव्यादा प्रेत दक्षिणा। प्रियं पितृभ्य आत्मने ब्रह्मभ्यः कृणुता प्रियम्

IAST Transliteration

apā́vṛtya gā́rhapatyāt kravyā́dāt prá ita dakṣiṇā́ | priyáṃ pitṛ́bhya ātmáne bráhmabhyaḥ kṛṇuta priyám

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Having turned away from the Household Fire the flesh-devouring power, go forth to the right: make ye what is dear for the Fathers, dear for oneself, dear for the Brahmans.

Translation

கார்ஹபத்ய அக்னியிலிருந்து விலகி, ஹே க்ரவ்யாத (மாமிசம் உண்ணும்) சக்தியே, தெற்குத் திசை நோக்கிச் செல். பித்ருக்களுக்கு இனியதையும், தன் ஆத்மாவிற்கு இனியதையும், பிராமணர்களுக்கு இனியதையும்—நீங்கள் இனியதாகச் செய்க.
