
कुण्डिकोपनिषत् अथर्ववेदसम्बद्धा संन्यासोपनिषत्सु परिगण्यते। अस्याः संक्षिप्तेषु मन्त्रेषु संन्यासधर्मस्य आचारः, वैराग्यस्य महत्त्वं, तथा आत्मविद्यायाः परमप्राधान्यं प्रतिपाद्यते। ‘कुण्डिका’ इति जलपात्रं संन्यासिनः चिह्नं, किन्तु अत्र तद् अन्तःशौच-निग्रह-अपरीग्रहादीनां प्रतीकत्वेन उपदिश्यते। बाह्यलक्षणानां न्यूनता, मनोनिग्रहः, समदृष्टिः, अहिंसा च—एते गुणाः ब्रह्मात्मैक्यबोधस्य साधनत्वेन निरूप्यन्ते।
