Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Significance: Defines pūjā as disciplining mind and knowledge toward iṣṭa-phala; in Śaiva Siddhānta this aligns with caryā/kriyā producing antaḥkaraṇa-śuddhi, preparing the paśu for higher yoga/jñāna and Śiva’s grace.
Role: teaching
It defines pūjā as more than external ritual: true Shiva-worship is the inner ordering of mind and right knowledge so that one is directed toward the chosen spiritual fruit—ultimately Shiva’s grace and liberation.
Linga-pūjā is effective when the outer offerings express an inner discipline—purifying intention and clarifying understanding—so the devotee’s consciousness is joined to Saguna Shiva as the doorway to realizing the Supreme.
Perform Shiva pūjā with deliberate bhāva (right inner attitude) and jñāna (correct understanding), supporting it with focused japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) so the mind is aligned toward the intended spiritual goal.
