Sūta Gosvāmin (traditional Purāṇic colophon style, concluding the chapter narration to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Sthala Purana: Colophon marking the completion of the chapter on yajña-vidhvaṃsa; no specific jyotirliṅga episode is invoked here.
Mantra: iti śrīśivamahāpurāṇe ... yajñavidhvaṃsa-varṇano nāma saptatriṃśo’dhyāyaḥ
This is a colophon marking the completion of the chapter on the destruction of the sacrifice, emphasizing a core Shaiva teaching: ritual power without reverence for Śiva (Pati) and without humility becomes spiritually barren and collapses under ego.
By concluding the “yajña-destruction” narrative, it implicitly reinforces that worship of Saguna Śiva—often centered on the Liṅga with devotion—surpasses mere external rites performed with pride or sectarian contempt.
The takeaway is to purify yajña and daily worship through Śiva-bhakti: mentally offer actions to Śiva, recite the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and maintain humility—so outer ritual aligns with inner surrender.
