Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Mantra: ayaṃ rudraḥ śivāsvāmī
Type: stotra
It highlights recognition (pratyabhijñā) of the Supreme Pati—Rudra as Shiva—showing that true joy arises when the devotee discerns Shiva’s lordship behind appearances.
Menā identifies Rudra directly as Shiva, emphasizing Saguna realization—seeing Shiva as the personal Lord—whose presence is also approached through the Liṅga as a sacred, accessible form of worship.
A practical takeaway is nāma-smaraṇa and mantra-japa—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to cultivate the inner recognition that “this is Shiva, my Lord” in all sacred encounters.
